Rural King in Peru, Illinois had 99 cent chicks because they were 2-3 weeks old. Had 2 oldest girls with me and need I say more.....we came home with 6 new chicks. 3 isa Browns and 3 black sexlinks. My hubby is still building a big brooder box so we are at this brooder a max. My girls are ecstatic!
Well I stopped at rural king to get a couple heat lamp bulbs and more chick feed for my 5 chicks we hatched......ended up coming home with 6 new babies out of the "clearance" tank.....my 8 and 10 year old girls begged and I gave in. So we got 3 isa browns and 3 black sexlinks for .99 each all...
Anyone know which breeds these are? I got the eggs from a guy that has barred rocks, lavender Orpingtons, Rhode Island reds, buff Orpingtons, and red sexlings. I think the one being held by my daughter in white shirt may be a lavender Orpington.
I think as long as there's movement just let them go....once they pop internally they started peeping and carrying on so you'll know. I have two hatched and in the brooder and the rest hasn't popped yet but one
