Any guesses on the sex of these Light Sussex birds.

Hi all, these were the first babies we ever hatched and they’re now a bit over 9 weeks. Anyone have any guesses on what sexes we got? https://imgur.com/a/m9mir Thanks in advance!

This seems like a silly question, but is this a rooster?

The lady I got her from is away until the 11th so she has until then to show me some eggs. If there's still nothing by then the lady said she'd take her back and swap her for a layer.

Yeah, I don't have anything to separate her/him I only have a small coop and then they free range in the orchard during the day. Saw some more crowing this morning :| starting to think it's a feminine rooster rather than a masculine hen.

Not looking great on the egg front guys, https://imgur.com/a/Yn2r6 Still only getting 2 eggs a day at a maximum and they look (to my eyes) to be from the same two hens.

Yeah in Australia our store bought eggs are brown (more brown than that egg) so apparently I've never seen an actual white egg :)

This would have been a good idea, had I not already eaten most of them :|

Yeah sorry I edited my post to say that I don't know if that egg is even technically white but it seems white compared to the eggs I was getting from my Isa Browns but it does seem a bit light brown or off white so not sure if that's what the seller counted as white or if I'm yet to see the pure...

This seems like a silly question, but is this a rooster?

Yeah, what debid said. But I went and reread my first post and it's a bit confusing. These are the eggs I got https://imgur.com/a/s9viz The Tuesday eggs I didnt see laid but on Wednesday I was out there are found Cissy singing in the nesting box and waited for her to leave to collect the non...

This seems like a silly question, but is this a rooster?

I was told she laid a white egg, Andy the Araucana x Polish lays a blue egg and Cissy the Cochin X Legbar lays a brown egg. But I caught both Andy and Cissy laying and Cissy's egg is actually white. So I should be getting 2 white and 1 blue. So far Tuesday I got 1 blue + 1 white, Wednesday I...

Yeah, I feel like if she knew it to be a rooster then she wouldn't have mentioned her being returned before. And she's also said she's happy to refund me or swap her over if she doesn't lay or even if she does lay but is too noisy. So I think she definitely believes her to be female too

Just assuming she is a lady and taking into account that she was apparently already laying before purchase, is around 20 weeks old, but has just moved house. How long should I wait before writing her off as a rooster?

This seems like a silly question, but is this a rooster?

The lady I got her off said she was "noisy" and that she'd sold her before but the other people returned her because of the noise. The crowing doesn't bother me (or my neighbors) we have a big block and I can't hear it from in the house, but I do want eggs so if her gender is still up for debate...

This seems like a silly question, but is this a rooster?

Yeah, I'm not going to accept hen-status until I see that egg. There was no crowing that I saw this morning and I haven't seen any other obviously rooster behaviour but we have the comb, spurs and some crowing so there's a lot that points to rooster. I'm not sure how long I should wait for...

Sorry to disappoint guys but no egg yet! It's 8am here but the other 2 ladies seem to lay quite late in the day. I've only found their eggs after lunch time. So the waiting game continues. Although since I've only had them since Tuesday she may just be taking time to settle in before wowing us...
