    Spraddle-Legged Pekin

Thanks. I picked up some poultry booster this morning with all sorts of vitamins and such in it. We've also got them out of their brooder pen (it's a large separation pen in the chicken coop) and they've got the run of the coop, so I'm hoping some more room to move around and exercise may help.

    Spraddle-Legged Pekin

Hey all, I'm new to ducks this year, and I've got one Pekin who seems to be developing spraddle leg. He is about 4 weeks old and his leg is a little wobbly and turned in, and it looks similar to some pictures I've seen of spraddle leg. I've had them on 22% protein chick starter (just found out...

    Chick pecked!

I'm a newbie too, so take it for what it's worth, but several of our chicks were getting pecked when we had them inside in a large tote. After moving them out to the coop, the problem persisted because although the coop was plenty large for the 10 chicks we had in it, the light, food, water...

The cones were attached to a tall...

    No electricity in the coop.

I'm not sure where the OP is writing from, but this would not meet electrical code most places in the United States, and with good reason. I would advise not doing this, as it's dangerous and not only could you run afoul of regulations, but if anything bad were to happen because of it, you...

New to BYC from Vermontville, Michigan

Hey all! After watching my in-laws raising chickens for a number of years, my wife and I were finally in a position to take the plunge. I finished building our coop last week, and we picked up our chicks today. We're starting out with 5 Ameraucanas, 3 Silver Laced Wyandottes, and 2 Isa...

I just got done remodeling an old milk house on our property into a chicken coop. The images are below, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
