Today i lost my first hen. it was an 8 and 1/2 week RIR. One of the bigger ones too. The eyehooks on my ramp broke and while a few hens were on the ramp the ramp broke and crushed the hen under it. i was so sad now my flock is only at 9
ok i see, thats how me and my pop were thinking about doing it. what is holding the nest boxes up though and how are you bracing it to the inside of the coop? also, the curtains, are they for decoration or do they actually help? i'm new haha
how does anyone have the heat lamp set up in there coop? i'm building my coop and i'm just not quite sure how i wanna do it. any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
OK - so i started my coop today! i just build the frame until i can get the plywood then ill brace it etc. I have 10 RIR hens that are just a little over three weeks old. the coop dimensions are 8 feet long, 4 feet wide, 4 feet tall, and the floor is 2 feet off the ground.
