I have a batch of 2week old red broilers...
Feeding broiler rations, fermented feed, ACV in water, and raw milk occasionally.
It appears as if they enjoy eating each others poop. The brooder is devoid of any poo and I have many, many times watched one squat and another scarf it right...
I have MANY Ideal "Red Broilers" somewhere in the range of 120
They are from different orders.
My first order is maybe 6 weeks old
Good:
Just as you stated they are very active and have good livability. None have dropped dead aside from a few shortly after arriving
-Ideals shipping from TX...
I am at a complete loss....
So its a hybrid and wont breed true...
1. Obviously its offspring arent going to be "leghorns"
2. They arent going to come out same as parents
Question: So is the offspring going to be *some* mother parent breed and *Some* father parent breed?
Grower/Starter is .26cents a pound
My animals are all free range. 200lbs a week is alot to even be contemplating some of the mixtures totaling $1.00 a/lb
With the onset of fall here in central NY my chickens that ate basically NO feed this summer (2 acre pasture and woods) suddenly descided to start scarfing alot of feed.
My pig that lives with them eats:
Fermented whole corn kernels and Whole oats. 50/50 mix
My chickens absolutly go...
The largest bird (chicken) I could find was 22lb from California. Breed wasn't specified.
Mine I just bought( one I was disputing in a previous thread) I've wondered if I can push into record books with his size.
I weighed him 6 times. 19.2lbs, he is this years hatch.
Go ahead and flame me...
CLOSE THREAD
edit:
My lack of chicken experiance led me to believe it was foolish to grow broilers past 8weeks or the flock would start dying of heart failure and having leg problems.
If I started out with 30 broilers and only 1 survived to 6months just because im to lazy to put them out...
This is so humorous I couldn't help but drop by the thread.
Don't they have black meat? Unless your selling to a niche market of japanese culinary conisours id give up that endeavor. The feed conversion alone would put off anyone else considering the idea...
Broilers are .90 each at...
