    I wish you the best. To give you a little hope, I set my eggs under our broody hen at 9:00 pm on May 11th, Friday night. We got 3 chicks on Friday night 3 weeks later at about 5:00 pm. Then we got 2 more during the night on day 22 and then 1 more in the afternoon on day 22. I am still hoping...

    A broody hen has been sitting on a nest of 9 eggs...6 of them hatched....the last one to hatch was on day 22 about 10:00 am this morning. I candled the remaining 3 eggs and see movement in 1 of them...what would you do?

    Yes, I would certainly mark the ones you think may be fertilized. Other hens may try to use the nest. It also helps to number/label the eggs!

    Will the other chickens kill the newly hatched chicks?

    I have got a broody hen that I am going to let sit on some fertilized eggs. If my eggs hatch, will the other hens kill the newly hatched chicks? Do you have to separate the hen before her eggs hatch? Thanks for any input.
