Very good information! I, like the others, thought the lye needed the exrta time to neutralize. So my next question is - does HP soap benefit with the waiting period like CP soap does (hardness and longevity) or is it as hard and stable as it will get once it's cooled?
Another question - what...
Very interesting and helpful! Thank you all for your replies.
I made my batch a couple of days ago and jumped in to try hot processing (I really like the idea of using "right now" instead of waiting 4 weeks....lol) and altho the soap is not as rock hard as I would like it is still very usable...
I am FINALLY getting around to making some soap. It took FOREVER to get the lye (there really is NONE available locally) now it has just been a matter of timing. Kids are back in school so I guess timing won't ever get better...LOL!
I have come across some amazing sounding recipes but before I...

Thanks for the help! I am SUCH a novice soap-maker but I was given some goats-milk soap and it was the absolute BEST stuff ever. So I made my own and it was "ok" but didn't seem as luxurious as the stuff I was given. Here's the "BASIC" recipe I have (as given to me by the same person...
HI!
Since there are 406 pages to this thread I am posting a question that has probably already been asked but the idea of going thru 406 pages is quite daunting.
Does anyone have a good goat-milk soap recipe to share? I have a decent "basic" one but it doesn't lather as well as I'd like plus...
Thanks for all the advice ya'll. I will give our local Ace a go and if they don't have it I'll check Home Depot and/or TSC. Crossing my fingers to find some.
I have been looking for plain ole lye for over a year now so I can make my own soap. I can buy mass quantities of it online but really, I don't want to keep THAT much on hand since it takes only a little for each batch. I have looked at all the drain opened products and can't seem to find any...
I would really like to find some silver laced, gold laced, columbian, and possibly blr from good quality lines. I don't plan on showing them, I just really appreciate the fat head, short fluffy body, and temperament of the wyandotte. If anyone can help me out, please PM or email. Thanks.
This is my very last pair of cuckoo silkies. I worked several years on this color pattern and this pair is all that's left of my work (other than ones that have been sold at earlier times). This roo carries 2 copies of the cuckoo gene so bred to this cuckoo hen you *should* get 100% cuckoo...
This is my very last pair of white silkies. They used to be a pair of my show birds but have since just become part of the whole flock. The parents of the hen were both from Fawkes Feather (Deb Steinberg) and the rooster is a cross from PearsonZoo and Fawkes Feather. I just don't have time to...

OK, so I didn't read your whole list (I have been obsessed with tomatoes lately). I'd like some mimosa seeds. I have some pepper seeds (hot and/or sweet) I could trade, maybe some self-blanching cauliflower....?
