Duck with swollen foot, hot to touch, no black spot

Yes she is inside. Has a large bandaid on it. I clean and change it daily. It feels squishy a little. I think she broke her middle toe there on that same foot. :(

I do not have a local vet willing to see a duck. And the nearest vet is a couple hours away and currently closed due to Covid. They had a confirmed case in their building.

Duck with swollen foot, hot to touch, no black spot

Hi there! I’ve got a duck who is limping and has a swollen foot. I had thought there was a black spot but thinking now it was just crud. I cut a small slit to see if there was a corn but there’s NOTHING that I can see. :( I feel so bad that I cut her foot and I didn’t find the problem. I did...

I have lots of chickens sneezing tonight, watery/foamy eyes.

Thank you! I am gonna have to make some decisions here soon. :’( how would I go about getting a vaccine? I have some birds not showing any signs of illness and some that are oh so friendly. I don’t have the heart to cull them. :’( I won’t get anymore until this is all done.

*update* I am having some issues again with similar symptoms as in January. I’m afraid they are having another flare up. The coop is clean and dry as I moved my ducks out of the coop permanently into their own area, they get out daily, and there is no condensation on the windows so I know it’s...

That’s true! I just couldn’t believe someone from the same area had the same experience as me. So sad.

I think I might have some answers as to where the illness came from. We are getting my taxes done and got to talking to the receptionist. Long story short she got some black sex link chicks last year same time and place I got mine. Hers all died from the same stuff my chicken tested positive...

Would there be a way of testing to see if anyone is carriers? There are some that didn’t show any signs or only mild signs like foamy eyes. And none of the ducks ever got sick. Would they be carriers?

I don’t know how they even would get this. None of my new birds showed any signs of being sick. And I’ve had them since the summer with no issues. And actually none of them even got sick really that I can remember.

I didn’t see any blood from the beak at all. I saw a couple bloody booger streaks (from when she would sneak and shake her head) in the tub from another chicken but not this specific one that the results are from.

I just called today. They are still working on the tests. Hopefully they’ll be done soon! I believe I sent him in on the 10th. Will keep you posted! ❤️ Do you think the eggs I got, while they were sick and gave meds, are safe? And if not, will the eggs still not be safe? I only gave the meds...

Thanks! The other rooster (Rhode Island red) who I had quarantined seems to be 100% better. He had 4-5 days of denagard. He doesn’t sound gurgley at all anymore and his comb isn’t purple. It’s red again. Everyone else seems fine and no more deaths or anyone sneezing. The lab said they would do...
