Obviously I'm new. I just culled 5 of 9 pullets about 8 weeks old. They had all the signs of CRD and no antibiotics seemed to be doing anything, for five weeks now. showing signs of emaciation, some gurgling, eyes bubbling if not swollen shut, one was so swollen, i'm pretty sure it would have...

I received ten chicks two weeks ago, unsure exact age, maybe one month old, one I think is older than that. Anyway, the day after they came home, four of them began having watery and swollen eyes. I waited a week, then separated them from the others. for three days now they have been getting...

They are all about a year old allegedly. I traded some other roos for these in Nov and wasn't long I noticed their combs and wattles explode. I know they are getting much better feed. Since Thanksgiving two of the BO's combs have grown three times what they were when I got them. Thanks...

I would assume at a min 3sq ft per standard size bird so 8?????? Although the Amish, Mennonites and Hutterites are pretty good chicken farmers so maybe 12 -13 would be ok. Just a guess!

DRAT!!!! I just can't win with these birds...lol! I figured as much. I think I may just go the sex link route and buy from a real hatchery! I started with twelve in Jul, lost two, 8 were roo's. Now more roo's! I just want at least one expensive egg to squeeze out!

The black and white one is actually black with very pretty bluish green hue around base of neck. I found it sitting in a nest box today where I suspect it is the only one that's been in them arranging the hay, but to no avail, no eggs.
