I recently met boys with a Guinea fowl that they had killed & they were also carrying its eggs so i bought & ate the dead one then gave the eggs to one of my broody hens & they are already hatching but can a hen raise them or it's going to kill them
They started dying 3 days into the brooder but now they start dying 5 days after hatching
My feeds are always free from moulds at least that I ensure by throwing away the mouldy ones
2 months ago I removed all my vaccinated chicks which were around 2 to 4 weeks old from their mothers into the brooder & they started getting paralysed, rotating their necks & failed to eat in the end only 16 chicks out of 103 were left
I have been raising 100s of chicks in the same...
I did the candling and it seems the embryos are dead but I've decided to let my hen free because it may hurt her just like you said it's hard on the hen
Thanks so much
I put 14 eggs under my broody hen & it's been 25 days though no egg is hatching those eggs were previously laid in the bush during the wet season so I suspect they got some problem from there
So can I just remove those eggs & give her new ones, is it possible she'll keep brooding for 21 more days
An eagle was trying to sweep off with my chicks but lucky for it got caught in my anti bird net, what should I do with it since I'm an nature lover & it's still alive
I've changed everything in the brooder, tried 3 veterinary officers so far got electrolytes, vitamins& medication but the mortality is not slowing down. 30% of the flock wiped out in 6 days & the rest of the flock is all weak
