    Help! Coturnix/Japanese Quail sick!

Sadly, she died this morning... We have a very high aviary roof, so I'd doubt she would boink her head on anything... Edit: In the last pic she had her foot drawn into her feathers. Only had her left leg sticking out

    Help! Coturnix/Japanese Quail sick!

Bump Her condition hasn't gotten better, and she isn't moving much... I gave some NetTex poultry Nutri drops to her to see if she will revive.

    Help! Coturnix/Japanese Quail sick!

Yesterday I found one of my Coturnix Quail lying under one of the logs in the aviary. It's rainy and a bit cold here so she may have been stricken with hypothermia. She was very cold, so I put her under one of the chick brooder lamps we have to spare. Today her condition hasn't changed besides...

At this point we did euthanasia on her- she had slipped tendon and wasn't eating well. :( However it'd be great to know what happened!

Sick 6 day old chick- Help!

Alright so we recently had a batch of 20 new Hampshire red chicks hatch, but suddenly we found and isolated one who was - "gasping" - sneezing occasionally - lethargic in general It's day two of this sick baby being sick, but she is floppier and tends to sleep. I have her set under a heat lamp...

    Newborn chicks crawling around?

Now this isn't too much of an emergency, but it sparked my never ending fear of more spraddle legged babies! :barnie Sadly, I don't have any photos at the moment, but here is my "problem" at first glance. We have recently hatched 3 hampshire reds and 2 sizzle crosses- about 9-18 hours (when I...

Raspy and thin chicken with flaking skin?

I've clipped her beak now. However when I felt her crop (she ate a little mash!), it was watery. Is this partly wet food from through out the day? Her poo is a little small and watery too. If it's worms we have a treatment coming soon already

Raspy and thin chicken with flaking skin?

Her eye isn't closing. The pupil is contracted constantly, which concerned me for marek's- but it was only in one eye. We're going to get some mite powder so the mites won't last long. I dropped several drops of salty water into her eye (which probably made no difference), but it could just be...

Raspy and thin chicken with flaking skin?

Would it be possible she would have inhaled too much dust that made her breathing raspy?

Raspy and thin chicken with flaking skin?

They dust bathe in a small section of pretty dry dirt in the paddock. But it's really just this one that has a lice problem. She may have leg mites too again; we tried dunking her legs in engine oil to suffocate the mites, but they still persist. Dish washing liquid maybe? Poisonous enough. She...

Raspy and thin chicken with flaking skin?

I have 4 rescue battery hens in my flock at the moment. They're Red shavers, and are pretty well. Besides this one. She might have some sort of lung problem? Every time she breathes it's raspy. She's thinner than the others, and has slightly flaking skin at the base of her feathers. I'm not...

    Dark patches in egg? Help!

Yes, it seemed to move. I'm not sure if the dark mass is in fact the embryo, but it's day 15 now and we have discarded the eggs that haven't simply made it (dead, underdeveloped). I'm sure by now the dark masses are actually the embryos /phew/
