I just lost my T.J. hen that I Hatched last year. Appears to be a heart attack. I miss her, she was such a fun bird. I'm wondering what the average age people are losing these birds? I keep thinking about the conditions of how production hens are kept and can't imagine they are fed a nutritious...

Thanks for the info. If I used a solid color ameraucana, example, black to blue is that considered pure? Or do you have to stay with the same colors for the rooster and hen?
I have a breeding question! I have a blue wheaten roo, I want to put him over my blue wheaten hen, black and blue ameraucana hens. With those colors will I still have pure ameraucanas or will I have to call them Easter Eggers? Thanks guys for your help!
