    Easter Egger rooster or hen?

    I have a two month old Easter egger. Sounds like he is crowing in the mornings. Cockerel or hen?

    Help with possible rooster!

    My chicks are 7 weeks and 2 days old. There is one chick that has a little darker feathers and a darker comb. Im afraid he is a rooster. These two pics are the other chicks Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Yeah I moved the brooder heat lamp to the coop. It could get down to 30 at night over the next few days. Now to get the chicks used to the ramp!

    I just put my chicks out for their first night in the coop. I'm worried it's too cold for them. I live in Springville the low is around 40 tonight but over the next few days it could get down to 30. Should I worry or put a heat lamp in there? They have straw and its not drafty

    Do you think three 22" roosts is enough for 6 RiR's they would have to double up. Hope they all get along well enough

    Thanks! I will move the roosts. Only one screw holding them down. As for nest boxes at this point I plan on using two home depot buckets. They wedge perfectly width wise. I would put a threshold on them to hold bedding and cut an access hole in the back of them. They would be in the end...

    Mine may think I am a hawk because I reach in the brooder from the top. I will start reaching in from the side haha. Hopefully they will calm down and trust me more if I do that.

    V What part should I seal and with what? Should I paint the whole inside or just the floor?

    Well I will just have to make it raccoon proof. What size of hole can a raccoon fit through I wonder? There is cement in three sides too in the fence.
