Utah!

Ace just get a bra and put them in there for a while.  Blahahahahahaha........  Was it last year that someone was trying to hatch 2 eggs by carrying them in her bra...  Go search for the thread.  Hilarious....

So my humidity is down to 37.  I put more crap in there wet, but I'm running out of room.  I want to cry.  **** dry Utah!  Please rain, snow anything...  And I keep going over hoping for a peep in there.  Its day 19 in 2 hours.  And I'm impatient and I'm worried about them because of the temp spike and the stupid humidity.  Grrrr......

I have no idea if this will help, but maybe try boiling a big pot of water? My daughter have asthma and when it gets this dry and windy she has a hard time. Sometimes if I keep a big pot of boiling water on the stove it raises the humidity in the house just enough to help her poor little lungs. Maybe it might help with humidity in your bator?

I'm so sad! All 7 of my eggs were doing awesome, but the power has been out for 3 hours!!! I put some warm water on the eggs. I hope they make it!

Oh man! I hope the power comes on soon for you! Good luck!!!

I j
I just called again and said it will be up by, get this, FOUR IN THE MORNING!!!!!!!! Gaaaaaah!

go put on your bra.... Blahahaha. I'm so sorry. If I lived closer you could come through them in with mine for a few hours. Do you know someone that still has power that you could quick run them over too

Brian, he is gorgeous! Happy Birthday!

Bitsy, how old is she? Some hens' combs don't get dark red for quite a while. One of my Wyandotte girls was like that. If she's not a spring chicken, perhaps it's a nutrition thing? Does she have any symptoms like being really tired, not eating, abnormal poo, etc?

ETA: Dang you, phone! Stop autocorrecting me and making my sentences look silly!
she's a year old. She isn't as 'spry' as usual... she's walking around fine, just doesn't seem like a ton of energy... She eagerly ate grass out of my hand... so I'm not sure what her deal is really... I'll keep an eye on her... as for her droppings.. I have no idea :\

I just put my chicks out for their first night in the coop. I'm worried it's too cold for them. I live in Springville the low is around 40 tonight but over the next few days it could get down to 30. Should I worry or put a heat lamp in there? They have straw and its not drafty

Cfack I myself have had my chick's in the garage with a heat lamp for a long time and they do fine. As long as there is heat. My chick's are still pretty young. About 2-3 weeks Old.

If anyone is looking for hatching eggs... I have Black Spanish Turkey, Ancona Duck, Coturnix Quail and Goose eggs (along with Olive Egger, Black Australorp & Icelandic chicken eggs) In Idaho Falls.. can ship if necessary

i agree with red, ace. i bet they will be fine.

red the reason i brought up the brahma is because i figured a hen that big that does go broody could help hatch lots of your ice eggs and plus i feel like enabling people right now lol

Hmm true, Brahmas could cover more eggs :D I'm very slightly tempted right now by the big, friendly breeds because DH's granddaughter likes to come see the chickens and I want to have birds out there that she can pick up and snuggle or carry around. She's four.

I would give them a heat lamp just to be safe. We have a batch of meat birds in our shed right now that are getting big and are roasty toasty to the touch, but I still give them a lamp anyway, as it tends to get cool here at night.

Rural Pearls!!!! Did you see that Shawn (TheBirdGuy) has turkey eggs? :D I used to have some of his Spanish's. Very nice birds.
