This is a 13 week old... something. I have a definite rooster from this assorted straight run batch, and 3 definite hens, but am not sure about this one. What is making me think roo in part is the THICKNESS of the legs and I am seeing a little arc to the tail feathers that is making me wonder.

Yes it seems like the day after I took that photo, his tail feathers developed into such an obvious arc. So far, he's a sweet one. Thanks everyone for chiming in, and for the info on olive egging and the link. I'm excited to give it a try and see what we get!

Oh dear. What's the giveaway? The tail feathers? Maybe he will be one of those quiet, gentle, benevolent roosters who uses his leadership wisely, is docile with the family, loving and protective with his hens, and doesn't annoy the neighbors. They exist, right?

Thank you, this is really helpful. Today is no better, no worse, but nothing noticeable with her breathing/eating/laying patterns. I don't have TSC near here but will call my vet about Tylan tomorrow. I've been doing neosporin, just in case that will help, on the affected eye. What do you think...

I hope that happens here. Today, no better, no worse. I'm putting triple antibiotic cream on it but we have no tractor supply to get the injectables. I'm calling the vet tomorrow to see if she has. Thanks for the support!
