I didn't think about steel roofing projects, that's a GREAT idea. Right now, my truck doesn't have any gas, so I can't go anywhere. BUT, I will get some gas on the 2nd of the month when I get my check and then I will be going out to look for people doing re-roofing.

I have NO money. Seriously, none, so I got some free shipping crates from the feed store and a friend gave me some chick netting. I scrounged some nails and screws and re-used some of the nails from the shipping crates.
This is the wood that came from those crates after I took them apart...
I just found this thread! Amazing. It took a while to read this book of posts, but Phew! I only have two chicks. Mama Hen and Baby Chick. I'll keep tabs now.

Whenever I go in with my camera they stop doing it. But here are some pictures. Of course then the little one has to try and squish herself back underneath her "Big Mommy" again.
OK, I hope not too much loss is expected, because I only have two, count 'em, two chicks. They are both pullets. But if some loss is expected, my flock is going to go down by 50% pretty fast. I'm new to all this chicken raising stuff. Of course, my landlord has a bunch of the little fluffy...
