  • Hello my dear!! I was thinking about you the other day. :) How are things going out there? Getting any rain? We have been in a dry pattern for weeks, but rain is on it's way!! Yay!! Maybe snow tomorrow. Hope you are well and all is good!! Love and huggies, xxoo
If you are not free ranging daily, I would go with ten square feet per bantam in the run.
If you will be free-ranging daily, I would recommend at least five square feet per bantam in the run, but more is always better. :)
If you decide to build an actual coop structure, (a box for sleeping, I'm not sure what to formally call it.) a box that can accompany a five foot roosting pole at least 1 1/2 feet from the box bottom and 2 feet from the top would work well. I would also recommend two nest boxes, so that they can decide where to lay, but one would work fine too. :)
Best of luck! Feel free to ask more questions!
Glad you like my avatar :)
I love yours too! What birds do you have? I'm loving how fluffy they are!!

    To answer your questions:
Yup, as of now I have all bantams! There are only four of them and they are my first flock. :)

My coop is the reincarnation of my grandfather's greenhouse. I'm not very handy with tools, so I designed it then hired a carpenter. We basically just took out the plastic panels and added hardware cloth to make a run, and then added some other chicken stuff. I'll try to get you a picture, thanks for reminding me to do a post on my coop :)
All my friends when they come over are like how do you tell them all apart?! I'm just like. Uhhhh I just do

    Lol
Not quite sure- it will be a surprise!
I will let you know how they turn out if they hatch, and I will of course post pics!
    Fine!
I have been super busy keeping up on the incubating thread and learning all I can- I hopefully will be setting mid- next week!
    How are you?
