Yea and it's been almost a year too!! You'd think if they were going to complain they would have done so earlier! I think I know who it was too, we have a NASTY neighbor up the hill who I hear swearing at his wife and kid all the time who makes an effort to annoy pretty much everyone in the...
Well, apparently you can't keep chickens here, and with regret I have to get rid of my 7 (plus 4 youngins), one of which is the nicest roo and falls asleep on your lap if you hold him. All around terrible day, visited in person by a police officer who informed us we have 5 days to get rid of...
Prettiest looking bird I could have wanted, he's an EE with white and black pattern and his hackles are so thick it's like a mane!! But lately he's been getting more and more aggressive and today he attacked my feet after "stalking" me for a good 5 mins. Really disappointed, he used to be pretty...
I have a little peep that I hatched out, he was fine till yesterday night when he started laying down and when I tried to pick him up he peeped REALLY loud and continously obviously in distress...and today there is mucus in his mouth and I can hear click-y breathing, also closed eyes. He's just...
Well when he internally pipped thru to the air cell (this is before the external pip / when you can see cracks) he hit a medium sized vein..luckly it wasn't the biggest and didn't bleed out. Before they hatch they absorb all the blood from vessels around the egg. I noticed this one seems a bit...
62% is waaay to much for day 1 eggs, the air cell needs to grow so they have enough oxygen till they hatch.
Second one is out and about! Very VERY noisy!! Black with yellow marks over it's eyes pretty cool looking, hope this one's alright because of the vein being pipped earlier. I'm gonna try...
Checked today, took off the lil piece of bandaid I had over the opening and there was no more blood, looks like it was only a small vessel, scarily enough there's a very BIG vein right below the pip so that probably would have did the chick in if it hit that one...still peeping and lively...
Hope you get lots of little peeps!!
I've been doing tiny clutch sizes lol, first is this 4 (1 chick so far, possible 2nd later today) And in a completely diff. incubator one of my day 19 eggs is rocking back an forth now!! So hopefully the lil guy will have buddies soon!! His siblings are both...
I had humidity problems last hatch...this time I got a small bowl of water and put it in the incubator like before, only I hooked up a little aquarium air pump and put the air stone in the bowl, agitating the surface and making it evaporate quicker! Kept the humidity right in the acceptable...
