    How did you come up with your screen name?

    Been a "cop" all my adult life and now I'm the cop on patrol for my chickens. My first thought for the name came to me when I was inquiring on how to protect my chickens from snakes and the such. Once a cop, always a cop!

    I think the snake population will be exploding in the South this season. I've seen plenty of snake on the roadway but so far this year my cat has not brought any on the porch or killed any in the yard. I know alot of folks have stated moth balls may not work but several have stated scattering...

    That's a good question and what happens if the chic's get into the sulfur? I would put it out away from them but I will eventually train them to go in and out of the coop when I'm home. I know, well I guess they would not eat the moth balls but how about the snake away and sulfur??

    Just starting to "snake proof" coop, I have cooperheads, black snakes, all varietys... That's my concern, I just don't know what the coop will attact. I figured my best bet would be to pre-treat before I put the chics in the coop. Snake away has a mothball odor and a friend states she keeps...
