    blending new chicks/ old flock

So my new chicks are 10 weeks old & intermingle through baby gate with older flock. They still make chirping sounds. I am definately nervous about the "real" introduction & getting everyone to live peacefully together. I m aware of pecking order. I was thinking it was time to let them socialize...

In their old coop they all (they are still in it) they all like to lay their eggs in one spot in the nesting boxes on the south facing wall. coop re-model

We adpoted chickens & their coop. The perches seem pretty dirty even after scraping and cleaning. Should you ever change out perches or anything else in coops for sanitary purposes?

    Big Right Boobie

It is soft, I can feel the food under her skin. There is no way she is letting me near her beak to smell her breath. What do I do from here?

    Big Right Boobie

We apodted 3 grown chickens from a friend that had to move. So I have been an adoptive mom for 4 months now, so raising chickens is still new to me. I noticed one of my girls had a swollen right breast about 3 days ago, I was thinking well she is about 3yrs old, maybe cancer? Then I goggled...
