Thank you for your reply. She has no signs of infection other then the “gunk” in her eye. I have gotten Terramycin and have been applying it. It looks like her body is now trying to shed the “gunk” so hopefully in the next few days it will be better.
One of my chicks has a deformed lower outer eye lid. It seems to prevent her from closing he eye all the way. She is getting a yellow gunk on her eye ball which is stopping her inner eye lid from closing making the situation worse. A few days ago I used triple antibiotic on it. but that didn't...
It looks to me that it is a male. It is only 6 1/2 weeks old and the other one I have that I am sure is a hen is 8 1/2 weeks and has no comb yet.
Thanks for any help :)
I know everyone feels something different about cleaning eggs. I sell my eggs so I wash them. I have a little over 20 hens so I get a lot of eggs. I hate cleaning them it takes forever. I was searching for a better way to clean them, I saw a few YouTube Videos that led me to this idea. I dug out...

I have a lovely little black, white crested polish and for the last few months her EE "sister" has been plucking the feathers out on the top of her head. I have been putting blue kote on her 2 times a day with no luck. I tried hot sauce, put what was left of her feather in a pony tail to cover...
I have been doing this for 3 weeks. It works wonderfully. My recipes are a little different but it works so well to use up a dozen eggs! Each week I use a different extract in the sponge cake to give some verity. Next week I'm going to try cherry!
We keep a very close eye on her at all times. I don't let her get too close to the chickens. It helps that she is an old girl (11 years) and isn't too fast. But if she gets close enough she tries to snack on them. No one has been hurt so far. My puppy is a German Shepard/lab mix she is 9 months...
Maybe you could get the dog a muzzle so it can not bite. That would give you enough time to use the collar. I have always had good luck with a clicker and treats. We have 3 dogs, our black lab can not be trusted with the chickens but the other 2 are fine. The puppy likes to run them around some...
We got our first egg today. The brown one! The white is a store egg.I didn't expect it this week. My girls got attacked by a hawk on Monday. Our head hen is still recovering but I guess the other girls were not too badly shaken.
