Happened for us today! 18.3 week old BR named Popper. So egg-citing!

Our first egg! 18.3 week old BR. It is so cute and little! Can't wait for my son to get home from school as it was "his" chicken that laid it.

So Fall hit hard here is Wisconsin. 90's two weeks ago to 60's and no sun. My girls are 16 weeks tomorrow. Maybe this is a stupid question, but wondering how much the weather is going to play in when they will start laying? Just wondering if this will set them back or not?

I'm in the waiting game also....15 weeks today. Got some nice red faces on a few but that is it! To think it could be another month makes me bonkers!!! Good luck to all those waiting.

I have one that looks like the original posters. More white than dark and those long feathers on the tail. They could be twins. What did yours turn out to be? Bird is 15-16 weeks old.

Great looking hen!!! The one that I was questioning is my favorite chicken! My 9 yr old begs for her to sleep in bed with him. LOL Such a sweetheart.

Guess I might have to wait until this one crows or gives me an egg?!?! LOL Love this chicken either way. It is the friendliest chicken of the flock, family favorite. I just hope if it is a Roo is stays so friendly and the hormones don't take him over. :)

I am new to chickens but could they be a light Brahma? They look like my Buff Brahma's at that age. Love the feathered legs. Cute chicks!
