Help on breed please! Took in a neglected hen!

Took in a hen that was neglected, and not sure what she is. As she is now getting healthy and very happy I noticed her tail feathers have black and when she flaps her wings the tips are white... Her body is a darker shade then her neck and head also... Age is unknown, thought she was very young but with food and fresh water every day her comb is turning red quick and she's gained a good amount of weight! :yiipchick

Is her chest salmon or patterned like her body plumage? If salmon, I would say Welsummer.

Agree. Looks like a Welsummer to me also.

So far it looks the same color, but she may have more change to go... In 2 1/2 weeks she is already a whole new bird! I did look up that breed though and I can see that as a possibility!

I agree Welsummer. Hopefully you'll get nice terra-cotta eggs

Welsummer.....pretty sure...I've got a few and the plumage took a while to really mature into the final colors. Very pretty girls...and nice dark egg layers...
