It has been quite a while since I have posted on the site. A dog got in my coop and killed most of my hens. I was devestated but have been trying to build the flock back up with an incubator. Does anyone have any Silkie hens they would be willing to sell? Thanks!- chickenut

I had a very weird egg today. A hen laid it on the ground were I feed table scraps. The hen was a brown egg but had light coloring on it that was very rough and didn't feel like a regular egg. It almost felt like sand paper. I haven't been giving any oyster shell. Could this be a problem...- chickenut

Agressive Rooster
I received 4 hens a rooster from my dad yesterday. The rooster acted fine in the coop then but when I went out to feed the hens he attacked me. He was flying about waist high and would not quit trying to spur me. Has anyone dealt with a mean rooster? Thanks- chickenut

I have an order coming from McMurray in June but couldnt wait to get started. I got 4 pullets and a rooster from my dad. The rooster is predominately white but has beautiful long black/green tint tail feathers. Any idea what he might be? I was thinking Phoenix or silver leghorn but Im not sure.- chickenut
