    Blue Laced Red Wyandotte pullet

What do you think about this one; male or female Blue Laced Red Wyandotte? The colors vary and the rose comb is hard to tell, so I’m not sure. Hatched Dec 16th at Meyers. The order was supposed to be all female but found two boys so far.

    Blue Laced Red Wyandottes

Howdee from snow covered Vermont. Got 70 female chicks from Meyers Hatched Dec 16. A few roos snuck through. Definitely one golden cuckoo Maran and one blue laced red wyandotte are male. What do you think about this one?

Sorry to ask again but cockerel or pullet (8 week old maran and mauve ameraucana)

I'm guessing both pullets but you might have to wait a little to see for sure like other folks said. Does the Maran bite you at all? I had an accidental boy Maran and he started biting me when he was a baby.

How do you manage iced water?

I also use the galvanized waterer and heated base. I tried ping pong ball floating in a black rubber tub but those don't work when it's really cold.

    Winter questions

to clarify they can definitely go out it the snow but might not want to. just try to eliminate drafts in the coop and also keeo it ventilated. But no reason they can't free range year round. Mine have gotten stuck in the snow before and frostbitten combs so key a close eye on them and keep a...

    Winter questions

Winter is coming! It's good to let them acclimate. They don't want to go out in the snow so unless you shovel paths for them they'll just stay in by nature. The biggest thing to worry about is frostbite and stretches of 10 degrees or lower. I would say let them free range as long as no predators...

    HELP!!! Extremely noisy chickens!

That noise is the sound of breakfast! They often carry on more in the spring but definitely after they lay an egg. I had a Buff talk for a couple days last week because the weather got warm. They love to fly and run in their run so the bigger the better. Mine is 35' long x 14' wide x 7'...

    Sick and molting hen

This Speckled Sussex and her other molty girlfriend spent the last two nights in my warmer garage because it was mid 30s all night here in Vermont. I have dog crates and a shipping container converter to a coop in the garage for any sick, injured, broody or chilly birds. I don't give them...

    Barnevelder rooster?

My friend got a couple Barnevelders from me this spring (hatched April 13th factory sexed) and just sent me this photo (first one in the grass). She said the bird doesn't crow and usually runs away from her but we think they/them looks like a he/him with the big red comb and wattles. I...

    Roo?

I have some 10 week old factory sexed female buff Orpingtons I'm raising and selling and one of them has very red wattles and comb. The other accidental cockerels I have had were aggressive and ran over and pecked me. This bird isn't aggressive at all, so I'm stumped. I'll attach a pic of a...
