Yet another rooster who needs a home! I have a beautiful Easter-Egger roo who is protective of his ladies. He's one year old and needs a little more space than we have I think. My daughter is crying a river but my husband wants him to go . Here he is in all his glory...
I have a beautiful EE rooster that I love. He does crow quite often which isn't usually a problem, however he's only 9 months old and wasn't crowing last summer when I was venting the coop. Normally I have him closed up in the upper part of our coop which is relatively small - holds six...
Chicksbunsdog - It does look like a roo. It has almost the exact coloring of my EE which turned out to be male. The red coming in on the shoulders and back are a pretty good indication.
I think mine here is older than your pic - this is him probably about 6 weeks. He is now 10 weeks old...
I have an 8 week old straight run too but almost sure it's a cockerel. Looks very much like yours but heavy red on wings and larger/redder comb. So, I'm going to guess pullet for this one. Oh, and as an added note, I think I heard the beginning of a crow this morning....
Ok - here are some photos of Rainbow Dash, or Bo now as I think he may be. The other EE is Muffy and I'm pretty sure she is a hen. I put in a few pics of her for comparison. They are just over 7 weeks old.

Nice Red on the wings and back.
Hi All - I posted a pic of my EE Rainbow Dash a couple of weeks ago. Well now I'm convinced I have a roo...really red comb and red feathers on the wings. I will post pics this weekend for an update! I think I can keep him....roosters are allowed in my town. I am on an acre. Hope the...
Haha - I didn't think anyone would notice! I have a 7 year old daughter and she named him/her. Rainbow Dash is her favorite out of the ponies and of our 5 chicks. So, I'm hoping Rainbow Dash turns out to be a pullet!!
Sorry about my thumbnails - it was my first time posting pics. I should have chosen a larger size...anyway Rainbow Dash and Muffy are still so young and no combs at all yet so I will wait and repost their pics in a couple of weeks.
I've been reading/following this thread for a little while now. Since I'm new at owning chickens, and EE's (although I was told they are americaunas), this thread has been extremely helpful and entertaining. I bought six chickens from a chicken swap two and a half weeks ago. I was told the...
Hi All - I'm hoping to attend the Claremont swap but probably won't make it until the Derry swap the following weekend. I was wondering if anyone had speckled sussex chicks or pullets. I'm also looking for Easter eggers or barred rocks...thanks!
