Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I had no idea they actually laid a BLUE blue egg!  That is just beautiful!  Turquoise blue wow!

Okay, I really need to see another set of chickie eyebrows lol.  Can you get a big separate piccie of Peep?  I'll bet you could sell pics of him lol.
He should have his own advertising campaign :gig

Yes, they are a really nice blue. The colours are getting more vibrant now that she's been laying for a week or so. I'll have to take a more recent picture! It's just amazing!

My chicks are almost 6 weeks old - are they old enough to sex yet?

Post some and we'll see!

I've been reading/following this thread for a little while now. Since I'm new at owning chickens, and EE's (although I was told they are americaunas), this thread has been extremely helpful and entertaining. I bought six chickens from a chicken swap two and a half weeks ago. I was told the chicks were 10 days old. Two of them are EE's straight run (the rest were sexed and from a hatchery, dominiques and wyandottes). I think they must be around 27 days old now and probably too early to tell but I took some pics today and thought I'd post them. I'd like to post pics as time goes by from here so others can see what they turned out to be...that's been the most fun for me to see here. My guess is one pullet and one roo. Here they are:

Rainbow Dash - possible roo?

Rainbow Dash #2

Rainbow Dash #3

Muffy - Possible Pullet

Muffy #2

These babies are about 18 weeks old. I've read this thread probably too much, because I can't decide whether they are roos or not, so I'm putting it in front of those who can recognize in a New York minute. What do you think?

Sorry, your thumbnails are taking forever to enlarge on my computer.

From what I can see, Muffy looks like a pullet (so far). Not sure about R.Dash, but both are a bit young. Try to get a close up of the combs.

The light one is probably a cockerel (red wing patches). Not sure about the other, but looking at the comb, it may be a roo as well.

Close up pics of combs might help.

Not 100% sure. Wait for other opinions!

I think the light one is probably roo because of the color and chunky legs. The other one looks like a pullet to me. I am basing it on her tail shape and the fact that at 18 weeks, her comb will be turning red as she is maturing and getting ready to give you those wonderful eggs you are waiting for! I think her comb looks really small to be a roo. So good luck!

The white one is a roo. Red patches like that on the wings are a dead giveaway. The other one is a pullet. She does not have any pointed saddle or hackle feathers. She's pretty too! I love chickens with blue coloring.
