Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Sorry about my thumbnails - it was my first time posting pics. I should have chosen a larger size...anyway Rainbow Dash and Muffy are still so young and no combs at all yet so I will wait and repost their pics in a couple of weeks.

Chickilicious............ i see all pullet color so far, they are quite young yet though so I could be wrong keep us posted in a few more weeks
Indy Mom ..............1 Boy 1 girl

Illia My babies turned out to be 2 beautiful boys, just like you guessed, and 3 girls like I guessed, and 2 of them little pullets laid there first egg today 1 blue green and 1 Tan, this was expected because she was my SLW cross, the others are Fileen and Graybeards babies, my splash rooster. Now I have a genetics question? is it safe to say that Graybeard carries the Blue egg laying gene, because from what I read it takes a pair, and Fileen does not lay blue eggs, she lays a tan pinkish egg????????? so these babies could have gotten 1 each from mom and dad, right...............anyone know about this

Thanks for the input. That was my gut reaction originally, but then I second guessed myself. I'm kind of surprised he's not after the pullet yet, but I guess I'd better figure something out before he gets hormonal. LOL

Your welcome, I would not get rid of that 1 yet though, because my little girl has some red in her wings as well not quite as much as your chicki, this is a closer picture of her, if he has a 3 row comb I would make my guess 100% Roo.

Your roo looks just like my guy! Just a bit darker! How cool, I hadn't seen any others that looked like him yet.

I also have a pullet that has this coloration, she's a lot heavier on the red. More so than both of the posted birds. But the chick in question I would say is a boy. Red patches only on the shoulder, thick legs, tail held tall and long and lean body. Here is my hen, Tilly. See how on her it's a mottling all around rather than solid red feathers in "patchwork"? The patchiness is almost always a boy.

Camo is now 15 weeks old and his roo feathers are really starting to come in.

He has these crazy "helmet" feathers, that make him look like he should be on the Avengers.
