I am thinking girl on this 5 week old I picked up two weeks ago. Anyone object?

Groucho is a STUNNING lady! I still think Harpo is a boy, though. Slooooooooooow to develop but I swear I see pointy hackles finally coming in.

The peachy 5-weeker looks like a girl to me, aoxa.

We call Groucho our eagle. She is so serious!
I can't find any hackles on Harpo though. The feathers that I can find that appear sort of pointy, are actually tattered from always being on the bottom of the chicken pile. I keep looking though. I will see if I can get any pictures of Harpo standing or moving naturally too.

Here are pictures of the other pullets in question...

Harpo (almost 16 weeks old)

Groucho (almost 20 weeks old)

Hmmmm.....Groucho does look like a pullet. Though, if there were any saddle feathers, they've been plucked! Harpo, still not sure. The comb/wattles are red, esp compared to Groucho. (I think visible wattles on an EE might be throwing us off a bit too.) Any evidence of saddle feathers? My cockerel was so beyond-a-doubt boy at 13 weeks, but I guess some can be slower. Regardless, your rooster ratio is quite low. Very fortunate!

All are very unique and pretty. Wonder what they were crossed with? You should be getting eggs pretty soon. Hope you get some blue/green. They're purty!

I am really torn on Harpo. The coloring on her neck feathers looks pointy, but the feathers really aren't, because there is a cream color around the outside of the feathers. It hurts my head, and I go cross eyed looking at them. There are some pin feathers on her neck, but then again there are some all over her. She screams like a girl when you catch her :)
Here are a couple of more pictures I just took...

I ruffled the feathers here, to make them easier to see.

I can't tell if these are hackles. They really aren't pointy, but they are skinier.

My boy was sooo much redder than Harpo at that age, and his hackles/saddles were very easy to spot..
