The title. I read that it might be respiratory diseases, and that they could be deadly :( Currently there is just 1 chicken that is sneezing and has a runny nose, but she has sneezed multiple times. There is nothing wrong with her otherwise. Please answer :(
Having trouble getting a picture, but I'm pretty sure they didn't eat a rat. Every once in a while they would shake their head but they stopped doing that when I checked on them about 2 minutes ago. Its almost a scab now, but ALL of them have it (I have 4 chickens)
I just let my chickens out to freerange, and noticed all 4 had blood on the front of their beaks. It seems to be dried out, but they all got it withing a 2 hour gap. Is this a disease? My theory is that they saw a cricket or something outside of their run, and all tried to reach the wire to get it.
Any ideas on how to keep my chickens warm, and dry in the winter? I also need a way to keep them exercised in their run (the run is smaller than normal) because I usually let them free-range outside most of the day.
I have 4 buff orpingtons and they are all yawning, usually 3 or 4 times in a row. It only happens when I put them outside, where it was 90 degrees today. I don't know if this is connected, but the chicks sneeze, even indoors. Ahy help?
THanks, AC
My 2 week old BO's have weird spiky black feathers under their fluff, on their neck. Its very hard to take a picture of it on the right angle, so ill just describe it. On the chicks' necks, there is a row of spiky, black feathers, kind of like a liberty style mohawk (search it).it's hidden under...
I have 4 chicks that are about 2 weeks old. One of them usually stay away from the others, but it still goes with the others if something big is happening, like if they get a new treat. the chicks head is a little lighter than the others, and it is a little taller and already has a slightly...
One of my chicks has poop stuck on her feathers. I've tried to take it off, but its really stuck on her feathers and i'm afraid I'll take some of her fluff off too.Its not near her butt, so I don't think its pasty butt, but i'm wondering if its safe to just let it stay there until she sheds her...
