Hi All! U guys are awesome for offering help and advice! Thank u!!!
I reached out to several rescues re: Hazel.
We aren’t concerned about infection of any kind right now… sounds like it could be intestinal wall shedding (normal but scary to see!!) I have seen no more since, no worms, mites...
I’m reaching out to people who may be able to help/offer advice.
My little Runner (Hazel - the one I rescued from that farm this summer). She healed up amazing 💗
However the past few days started limping so I brought her inside 4 days ago to stay in a kennel with daily swim time.
No...
I have to share!!! My Hazel - I’m giving her Vit B Complex - going well. She walks better already but I have noticed she walks on her tip toes … I suspect her odd gait is simply her genetics.
BUT!!!! I have amazing news! Background - i rehomed my beloved duck Monkey because he wanted to mate...
Well. I tried my best. Put the vitamins on peas, pellets etc. she will not touch any of it. 😀 a bit suspicious of everything, that one. Ha.
I decided it was for her own good so I scooped her up last night and used the dropper to put the meds right down her throat. I’ll do it for a few days...
Oooh ok. I also have Vit B complex in liquid form.
Question. How do I ensure she gets it? She doesn’t drink from the water buckets (fresh twice a day). She only drinks from the pool when swimming or the fountain ….
Must I separate her? I feel that will stress her out.
Yes she is so...
Goodness. I didn’t realize an older duck could all of a sudden develop a Niacin deficiency- I thought it was something you treated when they were young! Well shoot. I can do that! I’ll go back to brewers yeast in the pellets every day.
Thank you for the response.
Hello everyone 😀 it’s me again / I am hoping for some advice on my little lady Hazel. Who has completely healed up, is coming up to me for treats (altho doesn’t eat out of my hand yet) and looks amazingly healthy!! 💗 my sweet girl.
But! Her molt took a while … she only finished maybe 2 weeks...
Thanks!!! I have actually had a male Muscovy for ages. They don’t show any interest in each other at all…. Sally (my female) spends more time with the Runners than my Male Muscovy :)
