    I have a very sweet, very broody silkie. I have six silkie chicks almost three weeks old in a brooder. I'm thinking about bringing mama in the house and letting her raise them. Has anyone done this? She's sooooooo broody, I think she would be a good mom. Not sure if she could raise six on her...

    Two level run?

    I'm not too concerned with cleaning since it's just the run and not the coop so there will be plenty of airflow. I'll leave enough room in there for me to go in and change out wood chips. Or maybe I'll just put sand on the top part. I could probably build a box with the sides made out of 1x4s...

    Assuming those are all full sized and not bantams, your run should plan on 8-10 sqft per bird. But make it way bigger than you need, I would bet money that you will get more birds. Because all of us do...

    Lethargic hen, but nothing is wrong

    Little stinker. Came home today and she's fine. Ran up looking for treats. No idea what was wrong this morning, even geh breathing is normal. Was just getting ready to set up the hospital creat for the night.
