@CarolinaSunshineFlock She is a Narragansett turkey. Narragansetts are a heritage breed; they’ve been produced for a very long time. They are not large & heavy like a “meat” bird.

@CarolinaSunshineFlock Thanks for looking & asking! Yes, this is an adult male turkey—a Tom. Mature Toms sport luxuriant “beards” on their breasts. It is one great way to identify a mature Tom from an immature “Jake” from a hen.
