If you have electricity in the coop, which you do. Buy a heated dog water bowl. They hold between a gallon to a gallon and half of water. Depending on how many chickens you have you may need more than one.
My adventure started with a friend ordering chicks and asked if I wanted to get some also. I figured.....what the heck I’ll give them a try, that was the beginning of my serious case of Morehens disease 😁. I just love beautiful my beautiful birds. They are my therapy when I’ve had a rotten day...
I wouldn’t worry about your bantams with your LF flock. I have Old English Game bantams, that are in the flock with the big birds. If there ever is an issue between my Australorp roo and the OEGB roo, it’s the little guy that starts it !!!! You said your chicks are about 10 weeks old...
I haven’t read the entire thread, but I use a Sweeter Heater. It’s similar to the Brinsea eco-glow. They come in several sizes and work great. You can get it side mount or hanging
The last Malines chicks I received were either dark gray to almost black, those were the hens. The lighter gray chicks are usually roos. Not sure who Big R is. Malines breeders in the states are few and far between. Hope this helps
I have a Brinsea eco. The thermometer that came with it says 100 degrees, it’s glass . I have another digital therm. that reads 99 degrees. I bought a spot check it says the temp is 98. Which do I trust ????
My dream flock would actually be 3 or 4 or 5 !!!
A breeding group Big beautiful SOP Australorps
A breeding group of Big beautiful SOP Jubilee Orpingtons
Some BBS Ameracaunas for egg color
I have a small group of Big beautiful Malines, they are a work in progress.

@Pyxis I will be bringing watermelons. EE eggs, and a couple of handmade dog collars for the Auction
Possibly chicken saddles and a few extra dog collars for sale if I can get them finished.
