I have a 6YO Rhode Island Red, a 4YO Black Australorp, and 2YO Plymouth Rock. We are getting two eggs per day fairly regularly. The Australorp's comb in not bright like the others, so I am assuming she is not laying. We are getting one large egg and one medium-small egg. The RIR seemed to always...
Our two Silkies are three months old and been with the old flock for the last month and a half, and are understandably, the bottom of the pecking order, but otherwise accepted and tolerated by our other five chickens.

Thoughts?
I've been noticing my chickens eating the new sprouts on the cedar in their pen. Any issues with this we should be aware of?
Also, they are out in the rain more often than not, and seem to like being in the mud. Any issues I should keep an eye on with their feet?
I was away today and received a panicked phone call from my wife. Says the chickens were just attacked and to get home.
She says she heard a commotion outside with the chickens running crazy around the yard and then noticed a "hawk" perched on the hen house and many dozens of crows flying around...
