Help! Chicken attacked by dog. Impacted crop?

I understand your thoughts on her being alone... sometimes I feel that the stress of being alone is something to think about. When I have had injured chickens in the past (that have healed) I have also brought in visitors for them for company. I think it's a good idea especially if she has no...

    Impacted Crop

Hey All- I have a hen who is molting and her crop is impacted. Did oil and massage last two days. It seemed like I moved some of the impacted material down into the gizzard. When I left this morn for work it was a tennis ball size and after the massage was more like a lime. Should I keep...

The big girls don't even really care about them... unless it's bed time...

4 mo old Brahma's won't hang with the existing flock

Will get kinda close but run away asap. at night they fear for their lives going in the coop but, no blood has ever been...

    VERY Vocal Chickens

You will fall in love with your chickens! But, If you spoil them they will beg! And how can we not spoil them? ha! Mine are about two years and I have a song that I too imitated from their "talk" and they come running every time I sing it! So be silly and talk the chicken way! : ) Happy day to you

thanks! I have 2 RR 2 Silky mix 1 Leg- the leghorn just finished molting and feathers have grown back. The others did not molt as they are almost a year. I really need to get an automatic door but I don't have $. Thought of making a plastic strip door like in a restaurant freezer...

26 deg tonight have to leave coop open... ok?

I'm going overnight and it's going to be 24-26 degrees. I usually close the coop door and open in the morning at daybreak. The coop is inclosed in a predator proof run. Is it too cold to leave the door open?
