    Homeade Chicken Treats?

    lol funny I do this all the time.. Every sunday I make them Oat meal..mixed with something.. everything from corn to lima beans.. they LOVE IT.. warm cereal on a cold day.. More often than not.. I mix up layer pellets with scrathc.. add some hot water.. and walla chciken heaven!!

    That is definitely not an egg.. this could be str8 urine.. as it's the white color.. however you need to waite almost another 12 weeks before your RIR will begin laying.. for this time of year atleast. I would keep and eye out.. look at the bottoms of your chickens.. with that much mess there...

    Sitting rooster!!

    Hey guys.. I have a Rooster that is sitting alot.. the same roo that I thought ..or should I say should have been a hen..lol Up until a few days ago.. he was pretty spry... but seems to be sitting a little more than usual.. the last few days..not minding if the girls peck at him a little...

    When I bought him through the local hatchery..one ....it was supposed to be a she....and two I already have a RIR rooster...they have been together since one day old..do you think this is going to be a problem? and two she was sold as americauna?

    This is a very large...bird.. and seems to have the same characteristics as my RIR rooster.. they get into it quite often.. now nine weeks old? Just wondering if it is a rooster.. I would like to make decisions early.. way before real trouble brews!

    lol I think everyone is getting me all wrong.. probably my fault!.. I just noticed that there are huge amounts of posts about everyone having huge issues. I think problems start when you start treating a chicken like a dog or a house cat. So many feeds and chemicals.. and way too much...

    What was all the fuss about!!

    My girls are now eight weeks old and have been out in the coop for a little over four weeks. I used a heat lamp at night for 1 week.. and two weeks out in the run now.. all day! They are into grower pellets now and seem very happy eating everything! Rasberries are a gianormous hit!! cracked...

    well two things may have happened.. yes they definitely could have killed them.. because if you didn't introduce them slowly to the rest of the girls to identify pecking order...this takes a week to four days with a seperation netting. Secondly it could be disease or stress or both.. lets...

    let them be chickens and not pets.. and you will be fine.. love them and all.. but just always remember to let them be chickens...a pecking order and everything.. there are going to be days when you are not there.. so let them learn very early!

    Get a fan in there.. right away.. and circulate that air.. leave the doors open.. don't point the fan on them.. get ice cubes for thier water.. they are not going to know the difference about going bakck at night.. etc.. so no letting them out....you need to be with them and get them used to or...
