Thank you for the update part, Heading out to get an injectable, did 10 days on water soluble with electrolyte and vits, plus oregano. The swelling was down and she began walking and eating like yours but about three days off penicillin and swelling coming back. I don't think she was getting a...
Don't use this much anymore. I have had many generations of chicken over the last 10 years. Breeding Easter eggers and nankins. Silver spangled hamburg and welsummers. There are geese, ducks, guinea fowl as well as a dog, cat, rabbit and ball python. My job is bookkeeper, office manager...

FYI add to your vet list. Companion Animal in Shelby Mi will treat chickens. The vet there keeps chickens herself and is more than happy to do fecl/parasite test without having to take the bird in.
Three weeks nearly and one of the chicks was dead in the brooder. It was slow to develop and a bit miss shapened feathering wise. So sad. That leaves 5 nankin and 1 d'anver.
Culling is part of our responsibility. It is hard to find homes for mixed
breed roos. I can't beloved my newbys are 2 weeks old already. My meat bird chicks were picked up Tuesday and they are already bigger than my two week old Nankins.
It is not unusual for a hen to take on a roos role if no rooster is present. Because yours is not 100%, perhaps she thinks she needs to fill the role. Once a dominant fully functioning roo is present, she should stop.
