    FYI add to your vet list. Companion Animal in Shelby Mi will treat chickens. The vet there keeps chickens herself and is more than happy to do fecl/parasite test without having to take the bird in.

    Culling is part of our responsibility. It is hard to find homes for mixed breed roos. I can't beloved my newbys are 2 weeks old already. My meat bird chicks were picked up Tuesday and they are already bigger than my two week old Nankins.

    It is not unusual for a hen to take on a roos role if no rooster is present. Because yours is not 100%, perhaps she thinks she needs to fill the role. Once a dominant fully functioning roo is present, she should stop.
