    Advise Please, Chicken in shock?!

Ours is just showing real symptoms of normality and life. I put her out with the other two today and both of them have had a peck/attack at her... I'm guessing they are just re-confirming the pecking order?

This is exactly what we are experiencing. How are your other chickens reacting to her? Do they leave her alone or are they 'bullying' her?

I think so too. Ever heard of a chicken going blind after shock?

Right now she's stood better and we've let her back in the garden with the other two chickens. She seems to have more life in her than yesterday. Her eyes are still been funny. One is open 70% of the time and the other 20%. Even when it's open though she is still walking into things and...

Thanks for the advice. I'm planning on checking her crop shortly... Its strange, we keep seeing flashes of life from her and then she goes back to being very quiet and still.

Hen lethargic, eyes shut, head movement side to side

I’d do some checks to see if she’s egg bound personally.

Hey all, Just an update:- She was egg bound. After a bath in epsom salt water late last night this afternoon she laid a HUGE egg. She has been to the vets today and they have given her an antibiotic shot and some pain relief medicine which I have just fed to her in her food. Generally we keep...

Well. I'm hoping its not that and trying our best to keep her comfortable. Currently making calcium enriched oatmeal for her.

No, thats only because as she's started to slowly come round she is stood very still and her vent is pulsing like she's trying to push something out. It literally only began happening early this afternoon, obviously she hasn't laid in 3 days either... does that make sense and is it possible that...

The majority of advice online for an egg bound chicken is a warm bath with epsom salt. Is this incorrect? Her eyes do keep opening but are possibly a little gunky. I've bean cleansing them with tea water every couple of hours

We gave her a warm bath earlier today and did notice a couple of light scratches. But, her eyes do keep opening and the reason for the warm bath was she is acting egg bound... Lathergic, walking funny and looks like she is trying to push something out when she's stood still. Going to try...

They pretty much just stood at the side of her to be honest. Nothing really happened but I'm guessing as her eyes are still closed she wasn't too confident in moving around?

Ok, thanks for the advise. I tried her out in the garden and she just stood there not moving so would you advise putting her in the coop? FYI: This is the 3rd day of shock too.

Has anybody had any experience with how long a chicken will usually stay like this for?
