Chiming in here......
I basically do what ChrissyR said up there except that I go ahead and sprinkle the frass in the garden regardless of any eggs because my girls (the feathered ones) work the garden soil and get some random treats out there that way. The point is to have more than one...
ALWAYS interested in egg-layers if no one wants them for breeding.
Just bring 'em to me at the Norco Meetup if you have eggstras.
Can't wait to see all y'all!!!
oooh... I'm interested, for sure! Would love a couple of Cream Legbar chicks of the girlie gender please.
If not available at this meetup then whenever they're hatched is fine.
Yay! Covina isn't far from some of us... Hacienda Heights, Upland, Norco (that's me!), Glendora... then there are others a bit further like Hemet, Irvine, Bakersfield... no matter, where there's chickens, it's family! Come to the meet-ups and let's get acquainted
AGREED! Very fun to see you all there. Can't wait for the Lancaster meet up April 28th - thanks Tricia!
Sue, I totally relate to "WHY???? I will let everyone know when I figure it out. " since I brought home 2 new lawn ornaments - a paint-ish silkie and an olive egger (thank you Heather!)...
