Chiming in here......
I basically do what ChrissyR said up there except that I go ahead and sprinkle the frass in the garden regardless of any eggs because my girls (the feathered ones) work the garden soil and get some random treats out there that way. The point is to have more than one...
ALWAYS interested in egg-layers if no one wants them for breeding.
Just bring 'em to me at the Norco Meetup if you have eggstras.
Can't wait to see all y'all!!!
oooh... I'm interested, for sure! Would love a couple of Cream Legbar chicks of the girlie gender please.
If not available at this meetup then whenever they're hatched is fine.
Yay! Covina isn't far from some of us... Hacienda Heights, Upland, Norco (that's me!), Glendora... then there are others a bit further like Hemet, Irvine, Bakersfield... no matter, where there's chickens, it's family! Come to the meet-ups and let's get acquainted
AGREED! Very fun to see you all there. Can't wait for the Lancaster meet up April 28th - thanks Tricia!
Sue, I totally relate to "WHY???? I will let everyone know when I figure it out. " since I brought home 2 new lawn ornaments - a paint-ish silkie and an olive egger (thank you Heather!)...

Anyone looking for a roo???
I need to find good...
Hi everybodeeeee!
I've missed the chatter with all y'all SO much! I hope everyone's flocks are healthy and happy. So much has gone on with us the past couple of months that took me offline - but I'm back and looking forward to the September Meets!
We welcomed a new baby grandDAUGHTER into...
We picked up a good sized length of vinyl flooring at Home Depot for 5 bucks and laid that out with 3-4" of pine shavings on it. We shovel out under the roost every other week (goes to compost) and the whole coop every other month. So easy and stays real clean.

Sadly, I missed out on the beautiful Brown Leghorn (the loudmouth from MarchandPeeps). I hear she went to Sabrina.... YAY! That's a very good home. I got 3 Marans pullets and a roo from Shuizar at the April meet up and they're doing great. We couldn't get to the park til just after 2pm...
