    I always hatch a chick or pick one up at the feedstore b/c the turkeys will watch the chick eating and follow suit. It saves me lots of time trying to teach them to drink and eat.

    I leave our eggs out, they look beautiful sitting in an old crock bowl. I refrigerate the ones I sell.

    We sent a few of our extra roos to camp this week. We were impressed with how heavy/big they were! We get way more roos than hens hatch.

    We use a deer feeder. It has a 55 gallon barrel at the top with 3 feeding pipes at the bottom.

    There is one about an hour from here. Has anyone bought any feed from Tyson? If so what did you buy? I can't find feed mills near me am looking for a less expensive option. OMG my turkeys eat a lot plus I have a bunch of chickens too.

    When subscribe to a post and receive an email notification, in the past a click would lead to the first post since I last visited. Now it is going to the 1st post in the thread, not to page 60 etc. How do I fix that?

    It isn't "feed" as in commercial feed. It was all grown locally and has had nothing added to it. I may try some as scratch, thank you!

    I have the chance to get some peanut bran super cheap - like $3.50 a bag cheap. It is rice bran and peanut pieces mixed together. It is being sold as deer feed here. Peanut bits/pieces/leavings mixed with rice bran. Sure beats the $16 a bag I am paying for layer feed if it is ok.

    I don't worry at all about drinking mine...there is enough alcohol in it that I doubt bacteria could be a problem.
