    My friends wouldn't do that knowingly. They collect the eggs every day. We have gotten eggs from them other years, and have never had this issue.

    That was my experience when we had chickens too...just laying less. This year so far they have given me some and I traded zucchini from my garden for some. Thanks

    I know for a fact that they are not caged. They live in the country and have a large coop with indoor and outdoor runs. The other thought was that maybe the chickens are getting old? Thanks for your response. :)

    Chicken steals food from other hen

    My two batches of chicks are 4 1/2 wks old and 2 1/2 wks old...and when I drop mealworms, sprouts, etc. in the brooder one will get it and run around with it in its mouth...playing keep-away. Fun to watch. Deb Casey Edgewood, NM

    Growing fodder for chickens

    I soak the seeds in filtered water in a mason jar. For the first rinse I spray with a food grade hydrogen peroxide/water solution and let them drain. At the next rinse I start rinsing with filtered water. I do all of my sprouts this way, and have not had any issues with mold. Deb Casey...
