She has been laying for appriximately 2 months now. Vent is clear. Nomites, lice, blood or other signs of injuries. Not overweight. She is an average sized bantam silkie.
Any suggestions why my bantam silkie often lays eggs with blood on the coating. No signs of coccidiosis as stools are completely normal. White silkie with no signs of bleeding otherwise. Only notice blook on eggs.
Is there a concern she is having difficulty with egg laying? Future concerns...
This helps a lot. Thank you!
And yes, only currently treating the two symptomatic girls.
Additionally, I am only giving orally because I am not comfortable with giving the injections at this time. I will continue with the 2x day as they are a little cranky right now being confined.
Wyorp Rock, thank you for your response. I believe based on her symptoms that she may have Mycoplasma. Another hen has developed the same symptoms and is now isolated and treated with her. I don’t know the difference between a mild vs severe case, but I will treat aggressively regardless to...
My Red Range chicken sneezing, wheezing and not laying. No nasal discharge. She weighs 6lbs. I purchased Tylan 50. I read give .33ml per pound 3x day x5 days. This adds up to 2ml 3x day for 5 days. Other threads stated .2ml per pound 3x day x 5 days. This adds up to 1.2 ml 3x day. Which is best...
My chicken weighs 6lbs. I read give .33 per pound 3x day for 5 days. This is 2ml total, but if I give .2 per pound, it adds up to 1.2ml total. Which dose would be best? will be giving orally only. Also, do you dilute or give straight? Tylan 50 purchased.
I am having some issues with my first hatch. Previously posted about and working on resolution. Otherwise, does anyone weight their baby chicks regularly? I am looking for average weights. I have 3 salmon that carry between 80-92 grams a piece, an Ameraucana that weighs 70 grams, and two Jersey...
I only allow the children to touch them in my presence, washing hands before and after touching. Otherwise they are allowed to view them during the day but no touching the brooder, screen or being loud around them. And no- the kids are not going behind my back to see the chicks, I have them in...
I bought these from a local lady who breeds them- most likely never again. I have purchased layers without problems, but her chicks don’t seem to do well- not with me at least. Their eyes are shiny but not glossy or abnormal.
Acting great during the day. Eating, drinking, making a mess and running around. Napping frequently. On the day we notice the changes in behavior, they sleep more, stop eating and interact less, usually that night, they die. Poops look completely normal, no diarrhea, blood or foam. Absolutely no...
No we do not have cats. I have one mutt dog who does not pay any mind to the chicks at all. I have a screen over the brooder to prevent escapes. I had considered still being too cold at night but they hover around the light, not directly under as I have read they will if cold.
