One of my WH females appears to have a problem with her third eyelid. I noticed because she has been shaking her head frequently. At first, it look like I was just seeing her eyesocket, but as I have observed for a few days, sometimes the problem appears less severe and I can see her eye...
I have 8 WHs from Metzer. 5 of the 6 females' feet turned dark, though I don't recall at what age. One has feet that are mostly dark with orange splotches. Her bill is also dark with light splotches. I was wondering if that's a gene mutation?
So, there are massive roaches in my backyard. I think the duck feed is attracting them, as well as my former neighbors. The ducks eat them, but I can't stand the thought of those things living in my shed. Luckily they haven't taken over my house, though I fear that may occur with winter's...
So, I have read a few times that people will feed hardboiled eggs to their chickens. I was thinking about doing this for my Welsh Harlequins. If any of you do this, do you leave the shell mixed in (broken up finely), or do you peel first?
Yes, I'm thinking of leaving the other 5 in the bator tonight, just to be sure, then I will clean it up tomorrow and set a few more. I'm giving two of these away to someone who requested a pair. So that means two more females for me, which will improve my ratio to 4 to 1.
Well, I had four total hatch. Appears to be 3 females and 1 male. One that externally pipped did not make it. There are still 5 eggs that never internally pipped, and when I candle them, I see no movement. I guess I have learned my lesson to incubate at Lowe humidity. I'm going to set some more...
These people have all been helpful to me before, maybe they have some thoughts. The best thing would be a vet. Maybe soften the food up with some water.

I can't really see much inside any of the eggs besides the air sac and a shadow in the air sac if it pipped. There were two I included in lock down even though I didn't see movement.
Okay! I will turn a movie on to distract myself! However, after these four have finally hatched, if the others haven't pipped, should I do a float test tonight or tomorrow?
Okay, I candle them really quickly. The 4 with internal and external pips seem to have no liquid in air sac. The other 5 seem to have no internal pups yet.
Well, I just noticed three of the eggs shaking slightly. I guess I should wait just a little longer. I'm just worried because the air sacs were so small.
So it's been 27 hours now since two of the ducks externally pipped. I haven't seen much progress. It's just a bit of a bump in their shell. I haven't seen any movement or heard any chirping. Should I just peel a little shell away from where they pipped so they can breath?
