I don't actually pull the floor of my coop up every night since we've never had a "digging under" predator but yes it still falls down on the let-down floor but I just hose it off every week or two and it works fine. I'm very happy with mine and it has worked out better than my expectations...
I started considering this project in 2009 and just kept looking at all my options, then in 2012 my Chicken Mobile Stagecoach got under way. I only worked on it in my spare time but one could build it in a week of steady work probably. It's been at capacity with chicks since April of this year...
I got the fever to have chickens once again and began researching my coop options a few years ago. I wanted a chicken tractor but it took me a long time (way too long = over analyzing) to finally settle on Rick Hathaway's unique design of the Chicken Mobile Stagecoach. I preferred something...
I finished my Chicken Mobile Stagecoach this past April and it's been in use since then. Here's a quick pic. You can see pics of the project as it moved along on My Chicken Mobile Stagecoach Page here on BYC and my thread on the Construction Forum for discussion of it.
We had such a hot summer here I quit working on mine, but have resumed and am practically finished now. The only thing left to do now is to relocate the wheels so it is better balanced for easier movement. I built mine with an easily removable nest box so all I have to do is to pop the nest...
I'm currently working on mine. I'm about 80% complete at this point. I ordered the plans a couple of years ago but didn't do anything with them until just a few months ago. I'm working on it in my spare time so it's taking a little longer. I'll post pics when it's complete.

I used Home Advantage (Advantek) on the floor of my 8' x 10' coop I'm building; floor is all I've got done so far. I've been pondering on what siding I'll use and am leaning toward T-111 or a hardboard sheet of some sort. The Home Advantage was around $19/sheet and T-111 is around $24. The...
One cost effective lighting option might be LED Light Ropes. They come in various lengths and are very inexpensive to operate and the good ones are rated indoor/outdoor. I've seen coop pics on here with rope lighting installed.
Thanks for such a quick reply and all your suggestions for alterations. I also want to put the nest box on the outside of one side. The I want my roosts to be on the opposite side. Then put my door in between the two to keep the hens from tracking through their nightly droppings so much. I...
writermom,
To revive an older thread, I have the plans for the 4' x 10' Mobile Stagecoach but have never begun construction. I have delayed because I also think the enclosed portion is just not large enough as it is drawn and have been mulling over in my mind an 'enlarged' cabin similar to the...
Neat looking concept. I also bought the CMS plans but never built them. I had some reservations about the size of the coop/housing portion but it looks like you may have solved those problems with your new design. I hope you post more pics when your project is complete.
