    Broken leg.

It doesn't look broken but is hanging very loose and she has no power in her claw. It feels as if it's clicking slightly and might be dislocated at the knee/elbow.

    Broken leg.

I don't know how to set it but I can look it up and do it this evening. She's one of our best layers and really friendly too.

    Broken leg.

One of my hybrids broke her leg last night, I think she caught it in the fence trying to get away from another one. She hopped out of her coop this morning but just lay down then. I seperated her into her own little run with food and water but she just lay beside them and wont move. I cant...

Do I need to feed free ranging ducks?

Thanks, I'll carry on giving them a small amount of pellets so. They seem to like them anyway.

Do I need to feed free ranging ducks?

My ducks free range all day in a big area, it's a young orchard. I've been giving them a small amount of layers pellets because that's what the chickens get, they get a few table scraps too but I don't like putting out much of those. Do I need to be feeding them more or will their free ranging...

Will new ducks fight with the old ones?

I have three call ducks, I might have two khaki campbells coming this weekend. When I introduce new chickens toy flock there's always fights, will ducks be the same or are they more relaxed about things?

    Rhubarb leaves.

Thanks, they were just pecking away merrily themselves. I won't worry too much about it then.

    Rhubarb leaves.

Are rhubarb leaves poisonous to chickens? Mine have decided they're a delicacy.

    Emden geese coming this weekend.

For now they'll just sleep in a barrel turned on its side, they have a small pen of 8m x 3m that they'll get shut into at night. It's only behind chicken wire so won't keep any predators out but there's stronger fencing all around the larger area to keep nasty things out.

    Emden geese coming this weekend.

Hi everyone, I just bought two Embden geese, I'm picking them up Saturday evening. There'll be a four foot fence and hedge around them, is that high enough to keep them in or will I need to clip their wings? Is grass/foraging enough to keep them fed (it's a big enough area) or do I need to give...

    First timer looking for advice.

I spend a little time chatting to the chickens every evening after feeding them, I'll do the same with geese. Chinese it is, provided I can find some.

    First timer looking for advice.

Thanks a million, there's a lot of info in that link. I'll have a look at what's available locally and can look them up there and make my decision. I'll have to read more on Chinese geese, they look to be good egg layers. The chickens give me all the eggs I need though so it's for the grass...

    First timer looking for advice.

Hi everybody, I've never had geese before but decided to get some this year. Their main job will be to eat the grass in my back garden / orchard. It's roughly 50m x 35m, maybe a little bigger. I was thinking of getting two geese and a gander but have no idea about breeds. I'd like some eggs...

    Two roosters together

I was coming here to ask this exact question. I have quite a large welsummer rooster, he has 6 wives. I have three little bantams and was thinking of getting a bantam rooster for them. I'd be getting another three bantam hens too so he'd have 6 little wives. They'd all be in together, two coops...
