He looks like he might have some Game in him , but he is a little compact for a standard Game .Looks like he has a good dose of White Leghorn in him . I can't really tell about his size .
Good looking birds , We're practically neighbors , I live just across the state line in Lillian Al . next to Pensacola . I am looking for a nice pair of Black O.E.s ,if you have any to sell .
It's really hard to tell about the size in those pictures , because it's so hard to get the right angles on them .But all of my O.E 's are on the small size ,I try to breed them for smaller size . The big one is a standard Game fighting Cock .
I appreciate the help , on posting pictures . I must admit to being an old school computer ilierate geezer . I got the pictures on here , but couldn't quite figure out how to label them . They are just a few , will get more pics later .There are a couple of Modern O.E. bantams , Crele...
I have about 50 adult O.E 's ----- Whites ,Creles ,Spangles ,Barred ,and Mille Fleurs .Each pair or trio has their own fly pen ,and I turn them all out most days . ( except the ones that I am breeding at the time ) Those are not allowed around the other breeds . I have all my chickens...
Your rooster looks like he has a mild case of scaly leg mites .I have been fighting that for years .It just affects some of the chickens , some of the time .I have tried several brands of medicines ,and other treatments .But the best thing I have found is to submerge both legs up to the...
I only have one pair of Dutch Bantams ,and they are both orange , with a little cream color underneath . I don't know what the technical name for that color is , but they are orange .
I had an Egyptian rooster that I had raised from a baby .He grew up with a bunch of other chicks ,but was always wild .When I walked up to his pen , he would bounce off the wire like a wild quail .I turned him loose to run out . He would range through the woods ,and finally didn't come back...
Beakmaster--- did you have any luck ,with the eggs I sent you ? The last I heard they had started hatching .I thinned mine out to about 12 females ,and I still have 8 males .;;to choose from for spring .
Be careful using play sand, or dirt with baby quail. Sometimes they will eat it and get impacted crops , and die .I prefer pine shavings for the first week or so . My brooder has a plywood floor , so I clean it with a sheetrock scraper ,and shop vac .
My hens are much meaner than the males .I separated all the males , and put them in a pen together . They ran around trying to breed each other , for a little while . Now they all get along fine , and are in fine condition . the hens are another story. They have pecked most of the feathers out...
