I was totally into this thread. I read from start to finish with anticipation to find out what happened. Not to sound cruel; but I hope that wasn't just a cop out saying the turkey died. I hope that was truthful. I don't think people were being rude or mean. Just something that caught many of...
Well this evening my broody hen was out in the run eating and just having a good ole time. Sun goes down and she is in the box on 2 eggs. I put her up on the roosting bar and put eggs in the house. Hoping if I keep moving her to the roosting bar; it will help her to snap out of the broody mode.
We did take out the golf balls this afternoon. When we came home this evening she was in the box. Did her growling thing. I pushed her out of the box and put her on a roosting bar. She has never done this until recently. My other ones get in the box; drop their egg and scadaddle.

Greetings my fellow AZ chicken keepers,
My husband really wants an all black Japanese or Dutch Bantam Rooster. All of the hatcheries seem to only want to sell in quantities of 15. We already have enough chickens; so ordering 15 is out of the question. Does anybody know of anyone around...

One of my best friends is coming over for lunch tomorrow afternoon during her work lunch break. So we would have a good 30-40 minutes. I want to fix something quick and easy, but yet very good and satisfying for a lunch. Anybody have any suggestions? I was thinking about BLTs and a soup. I...
I tried using homemade laundry soap but wasn't pleased with how the whites look, otherwise Id be all over it to save money.
The individual pudding cups, I don't buy often. But those pack easier in lunches. Homemade pudding doesn't last well in a Tupperware container and not in the fridge. (we...
This is a bit off the OP topic- but speaking of taxes. If you sell a few dozen eggs during a month (no crazy amount of sales) do you need to file taxes on that? Once we are up and running I was planning on just selling eggs to friends and neighbors, maybe even set up a cooler at the end of the...

Maybe I should have worded it better. I think so much of a waste would have been a better way to say it. I feel the same as you, to me its a big waste.
