    Every chicken has gone!

No dingos around here. Looking at the run it seems as though they've gone over.

    Every chicken has gone!

I'm feeling relieved to hear that I'm not the only one to be extremely upset by losing their chooks. I've hardly stopped crying yet today and don't know how I'm going to sleep. Also a bit annoyed at my dog (although I wouldn't tell him) for not giving warning. He came down to the run with me...

    Every chicken has gone!

Thanks for your kind words. Might be a while before we get more. I need a bit of time. I can't believe how they'd got into my heart so quick. Funny chickens with their own funny ways.

Six. There is one spot where I can see a bit of wing and some guts, that's all. I told myself not to get too attached but I did.

    Every chicken has gone!

Went down to my girls today and found nothing but feathers. We have an automatic door opener so it must've happened early today. I rushed out the door early this morning, usually I would go check on them. I am absolutely devastated. I'm assuming a fox and I understand they can get over even...

    Bedding!

What do you put on the floor of your coop? I've got straw but found today when I tried to clean up the poo it was hard to get just the poo and ended up wasting a lot of straw. I've read mixed things regarding pine shavings so am curious to read what more experienced chicken lovers do. Apologies...

    Worming etc....

Being new to chicken keeping I'm wondering what I need to do to keep them healthy i.e worming or other parasite control. They have been vaccinated for something when we got them but I can't remember the name of it. Also how to do it! Thanks in advance!

Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

Hello! I'm from central Victoria and have just started out with our flock of 6 Hylines. Managed to pick one up today, she didn't seem to like it much but baby steps for all of us! So far we've had an egg each day which was a surprise having only got them on sunday.

    I'm new!

Hello there! We are located in central Victoria in Australia. We moved here from Melbourne about 6 months ago to a house on an acre equipped with a pretty large chook run and house. Two days ago we finally got some residents for said run! A flock of six Hylines at 19 weeks old. They seem a...
